The Autism and Neurodevelopment Lab

They are a clinical psychology lab at Montclair State University!
Their focus is on integrating research and practice to better understand social functioning and mental health in autistic and non-autistic individuals. They do this by studying individual differences and how brains may respond differently to their environments and experiences, and using this information to find evidence-based ways to help improve social functioning and well-being.

Cognitive and Language Development Lab

At the Cognitive and Language Development Lab, they investigate how infants and children interpret the world around them. They do not make individual assessments. Rather, they are interested in how infants and children, in general, think about the world.

Their studies explore how young children (currently, 2 to 6 years old) develop spatial language (e.g., the picture is hanging on the wall) and how non-linguistic representations of space support this development.  They also examine how language input from adults (e.g., parents) may also influence children’s language development.

They conduct studies both in person at their lab located at Montclair State University, and online via Zoom!
